I seldom write.
So, here we are.
Recording awareness – one way to describe what writing does maybe?
Recording how I think about what I think. And to begin to write just for myself seemed like a good way to start. It recently dawned on me that the evidence I have of why or how I think manifested itself in underwhelming ways.
I say this not to dismiss the joys I get from expressing through my work and relationships but rather find myself in all sorts of alleys before I come to a decision on design. Alleys that hold character and qualities from previous ideas, experiences from life, and a bunch of other things etched onto the walls of these narrow corridors.
Time spent in these spaces (in my mind) are usually fleeting. Call it intuition or a spark, it is crucial to understand the path an idea takes. A basic unit that becomes a part of a larger process that can embed itself in a system which eventually forms the spine of a service focused design agency.
The purpose of ‘rchitype’ would be to record, measure, and contemplate the nature of my work and opinions tied to them. This would serve as a tome for my readers (probably clients too) to understand why I do what I do. Above all, It would also start with showcasing my whims and fancies, but end with a rational method to incorporate it into my work.
I will solely focus on ‘drawing for writing’ as a medium – as my process of thinking tends to be quite visual. Some posts here will also pick apart certain projects I look up to (far from a critique) but more to do with questioning and interpretation.
